Salmon Tartare Recipe
Tartare is finely chopped meat or fish dish, seasoned with various garnishes. It is light, relatively healthy and requires no cooking. I love a good salmon tartare for a light snack or an appetizer served with a chilled chardonnay.
Ingredients for Salmon Tartare
- 250 g of fresh salmon fillet (sushi grade)
- 2 tbsp high quality olive oil
- 1 lime
- 1/2 tbsp of mayonnaise
- 1 tsp dijon mustard
- fresh ground pepper
- coarse salt
- 3 tbsp capers
Preparation of Salmon Tartare
Remove skin from salmon. Cut salmon into tiny cubes. Place in large bowl
Drizzle salmon with olive oil and mix. Pour in shallots, mayo, dijon mustard. Then add in the course salt and black pepper and mix ingredients together
Wash the lime and pat dry before grating the zest over the tartare. Mix well. Cover and chill until cold.
Throw in some fresh lime juice when its ready to be eaten.
A nice baguette compliments the salmon tartare perfectly.
