About Bex

Bex took her first flight when she was only 6 weeks old and boarded her first transatlantic flight at the tender age of 6 months, since then she’s been hooked on traveling. Bex’s travel resume includes 54 countries and consists of accomplishments such as visiting every continent in the world except Antarctica and visiting 5 of the 7 wonders of the world. Not only has Bex travelled extensively, she also had the opportunity to live in Toronto, Montreal, Ottawa, Hong Kong and Sydney, Australia.

While traveling has always been part of her lifestyle, Bex caught the backpacking bug when she was just 19 on her first European adventure while visiting the typical hotspots such as Amsterdam, France, Italy and Greece. Her second big trip took her through the East Coast of Australia and parts of South East Asia. After graduating from school, she took a year long hiatus and backpacked through Eastern and Southern Africa, India, South East Asia and parts of the Middle East. After living out of a backpack for almost 10 months Bex couldn’t shake the backpacking bug so she began to plot her next trip.

Since she had never been to South America she decided to head south to experience the Amazon of Bolivia, climb Machu Pichu and lounge on the beautiful beaches of Colombia. One year later, she had the opportunity to live in Hong Kong which served as a great jumping off point for her Asian adventures, including touring the major cities of China and Japan, exploring the islands of the Philippines, searching for Proboscis monkeys in Borneo and discovering Bali’s beaches. Later on, Bex decided to revisit the Europe travel circuit- sampling pasta in the Amalfi Coast, Italy, taking in the splendour of Dubrovnik’s fortresses, white water rafting down the Tara Canyon in Montenegro, reliving history in Bosnia, bathing in Budapest’s bath’s and enjoying the architectural beauty of Vienna.

Bex recently quit her job and set off for the ultimate Asian/ South Pacific experience-she started her trip island hopping through Fiji, diving throughout Indonesia, taking in the culture of Malaysia, relishing in Thailand’s full moon party, exploring Myanmar’s (Burma) hidden treasures, trekking through Nepal’s Annapurna Circuit and indulging in Korean b.b.q in South Korea.

Bex is always travelling the world looking for new and interesting places to visit while writing about her experiences as a global backpacker.
